Jim Paul

Jim joined the predecessor to the AASB, the Australian Accounting Research Foundation (AARF), in 1987. 

Currently, Jim is working on the following projects:
- conceptual frameworks (IASB-FASB and IPSASB)
- income from non-exchange transactions
- revenue recognition
- service concession arrangements (grantor accounting)

He has more than 22 years of standard-setting experience, including four years on secondment to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

Between July 2006 and June 2009, he was technical adviser to Australia's member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB). He served as a member of the Australian Valuation and Property Standards Board of the Australian Property Institute from 1996 to 2001.

Prior to joining the AASB, Jim worked in auditing for large and medium-sized accounting firms and the Australian National Audit Office for seven years.
