FRC Appoints Board Member to the AASB

AASB Chair, Dr Keith Kendall, welcomed the appointment of a new member and reappointment of three members of the Australian Accounting Standards Board, as announced by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).

Appointment to the AASB for 2024:

• Moana Overton, Partner, Accounting and Corporate Reporting, Deloitte

Reappointment to the AASB for 2024:

• Dean Hanlon, Professor, Accounting, RMIT University
• Toby Langley, Executive GM, Corporate FP&A & Strategic Finance, Xero and
• Caroline Spencer, Auditor General for Western Australia
  
  

These appointments are on a part-time basis commencing from 1 January 2024 till 30 June 2026.

Dr Kendall said “Moana will be a welcome addition to the AASB and will provide expertise in the financial reporting standards space.  I would also like to acknowledge Alison White, whose term on the board will finish on 31 December 2023.  Alison’s contribution as both a member and as the Deputy Chair have been greatly appreciated by the Board and AASB Staff.”
