Dr. Ao Li - Acting Senior Manager

Ao is a Senior Manager in the AASB Sustainability Reporting team, where she primarily focuses on sustainability reporting standard-setting projects and supporting the AASB’s sustainability research projects.

Since joining the AASB in June 2019, Ao has contributed to several domestic projects, such as the removal of special purpose financial statements (SPFSs) for certain for-profit private sector entities, the not-for-profit (NFP)Financial Reporting Framework project, and the auditor-engagement-related disclosure project. Ao has also played a key role in AASB’s involvement in various international projects, including disclosure initiatives, materiality, non-current liabilities, leases, goodwill and impairment, and intangible assets.

Additionally, Ao assists the AASB Research Director in managing the AASB research program and coordinating the AASB Annual Research Forum. Ao authored several AASB research reports and staff papers covering IFRS 16 Leases, consolidated financial statements, management commentary, auditor remuneration disclosure requirements, and climate-related disclosures in financial statements.

Ao holds a PhD in Accounting from the Australian National University and is a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ).
