James Grant

James is currently the Chief Financial Officer, Specialist Businesses - Westpac, and has over 20 years of experience in Financial Services. Prior to this role, James was Westpac’s Group Financial Controller with oversight of the Group annual and Interim ASX reporting processes, management of the External Audit relationship, and owner of the Financial Control and SOx frameworks. James was also responsible for designing and delivering the Group Accounting policy function including providing technical accounting advice for corporate acquisitions and disposals for the Group.

Prior to joining Westpac, James has led Corporate Reporting teams for both the Woolworths Group and Macquarie Group in Australia, and Credit Suisse in London. James has also held accounting advisory roles at both KPMG and PwC.

James currently is a Board Member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales).
